Flixbus or Megabus?

I'm travelling from Manchester to Bristol in a few weeks. Trains are over £100 (even with split tickets), Megabus is £40, and Flixbus is £25.

I'd much rather go on the train but at these prices the coach is more tempting. I've used Megabus before, but not Flixbus. Is Flixbus any good?

Love the Youtube vids folk do on coach journeys around the UK. "Planes, Trains, Everything" channel is well worth a view. Flixbus have a pretty good repution on average - they are expanding a lot oversees particularly in America. Most of my travel has been with National Express - which I like mostly for the good quality buses and charging ports! Still have a romantic view of coach travel - only overnight though - if I ever travel by coach during day time - I'm normally questiioning my life choices by one hour in and wishing for alcohol 4 hours in.

I used Flixbus from Vienna to Bratislava - it cost me €1 and was brilliant.  Would thoroughly recommend as an 'older' traveller.  The return train journey later in the day, was more problematic....

I’ve had far less fraught coach journeys than train journeys! Even when there is no industrial action. I travel by train at least once a week & it’s a rare week that I don’t get some of my fare reimbursed via DelayRepay. I’d go by coach if I could, but that route isn’t covered.

Never had any problems with FlixBus - clean coaches, helpful drivers, & not one has been late. My only concern (as a disabled, female, solo traveller) is that some of their stops are less central, so more difficult to get to, & can be less pleasant & feel less safe to wait at than a busier coach station. Especially for late night coaches.
