Overdraft Use Pre-Completion

Hey

Due to complete on a property towards the middle of September.

Obviously wouldn't dare do anything like get new credit out until we have the keys but if you are to dip into an arranged overdraft, how problematic can this be? Lender is Natwest and we plan to exchange/complete on the same day according to our solictor.

Just have a few things we'd like to get ahead of moving in which may require the overdraft usage. Just gauging the risk.

Thanks in advance

  • Can it be?  Hugely, under some niche circumstances.  (Like, for example, if you were right on the edge with affordability and creditworthiness such that they were wavering about underwriting - regularly using overdraft for gambling, payday loans etc.)

Usually, if it's after accepting the mortgage offer and there's nothing else to sign, it wouldn't be an issue at all and the lender wouldn't notice or care.
