Apologises if someone else has raised this - but did anyone else know that Tesco are stopping their saving stamps. The last day to buy any will be the 16th October 2023 and the last day to use them will be the 31st December 2023.
I know these are a bit old fashioned but do we know what the reasoning is behind getting rid of them? Not everyone has a smart phone and an app ......Do we have any idea what of anything they are replacing this with ?

I had assumed they'd be doing that (didn't know for certain) as they were getting harder to access the past couple of years - the machine went in my store and you had to purchase from customer services.
Last year I updated my Clubcard preferences to join up to the Christmas savers scheme (here) which afaik is slightly better bonus wise - happy to be corrected but I think the card stamps were buy £49 and get the last £1 (to make £50) free? With this you get a £3 bonus for £50 spent... if you opt into the scheme you then basically go to customer services and say how much you want to add to Christmas savers and they'll process it as a transaction that you can then pay for, I tend to stick a few ££ each month on it that way. You then get any Christmas savers vouchers along with those collected throughout the year in one job-lot October-ish time.
Pro of this is that I don't end up with batches of vouchers with different expiry dates but... what suits me may not suit others.Aim:12mth Emergency Fund -> £8441/£16152 (52%) Aim 2: Mortgage Overpayment -> Paused until other aim fulfilled.1 -
Wow!! In 30ish years of shopping at Tesco I can't recall ever seeing these machines!! I know they had something similar at the local Asda but that disappeared about 10 years back!

Thanks Brie and Kerreh really good to know . I'll look into the Christmas bonus club. I really like the flexibility of the stamps that you can use whenever but will see if Tesco have something else1

I would guess that cash is no longer king if you had to use £ coins. Perhaps the idea is also outdated? most folk put everything on plastic!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
