Hello again, I've just made a quick drink.
It's a bit grey here, there was brilliant sunshine earlier, but it's gone - hope we're not in for yet more rain.
Yesterday was an ok day, the man came to service the boiler and fire, both ok, ( though the boiler is only 2 years old) so that was good.
Dh has starting sanding and painting the outside windowsills and lintels, so we're hoping it stays fine. I worry about him climbing ladders, he's not a young chap anymore, but he is careful.
If it stays fine he'll do more of the same today.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to anyone who is not well.
Take care folks.11 -
Morning Scarlet and all,
Had a reasonable night’s sleep, now sitting in a bed with a cup of mocha coffee and waking up slowly.
I am hoping to have a relaxing day as I felt all at sea yesterday. The shopping is being delivered today and I need to take it to parents and sort out their freezers etc., and any other issues that arise. Then it’s home and hopefully crochet and watching football/golf, listening to my audio book.
I do need to email the surgery to update them about latest issues with parents before their home visit next week, so that they have the full picture.
I still need to use up the bananas, so I will definitely make a cake, although I am going to try a different recipe this time, I will look one up on Google.
Hope you all have a nice Sunday. Thinking of those who are struggling.
Take care.

Morning All
Looks like it will be another showery day so the washing can stay in the basket for now. Managed to get a towel load dry outside yesterday afternoon after some biblical rain in the morning.
The WM arrived around 10am which meant I had the rest of the day for pleasing myself. A visit to the allotment saw more courgettes and green beans, the neighbours are beginning to hide from me whenever they see me now!
I need to get myself sorted for tomorrow as I'm back to work, not sure what I've done with my security tag so will need to look for that and get packed lunches organised. Looking forward to having some sort of routine back at least.
Hugs to those struggling, take care and have a peaceful Sunday. XX12 -

Morning all
We're back from Sidmouth Folk Festival now, via a visit to friends near Bristol. We had a lovely week with much dancing for DH, much playing music for me and lots of catching up with people we don't see very often. The way the dates have fallen this year we are off again to Whitby Folk Week on Friday so have a short turnaround period for doing laundry and household bits now.
I have load number three in the washing machine at the moment. The washing bit is easy but its when it is all piled up in the airing cupboard awaiting ironing that it becomes a problem.
Need to pop out to Lidl for some salad bits today as we completely cleared the fridge before going away and only stopped to buy milk on the way home. What's slightly scary is that I forgot to clear some sliced wholemeal bread from the breadbin and it is sitting there, 10 days later, looking just as I left it!
Hope everyone has a restful Sunday.12 -
Morning folks. At 5.30 this morning there was thick white cloud over everything, almost like fog. An hour later the sun broke through so it's very twinkly. Heavy rain is in the forecast so I'm not planning on any outdoorsy stuff. Yesterday was so persistently wet, sometimes rain and other e drizzle. It was such a shame for the county show which was being held in a huge field behind the town centre. I didn't go even though I wanted to see the highland cows and heavy horses. My pool session was good though I again hopped off the bike to stay in deep water to do all the exercises. I found that I had to work harder in a different way with less pressure on my sore knee so really enjoyed it.Scarlet - well done to your brave OH.
Peony - I hope that your day is relaxing.Chrisca - what an impressive start to your day.Camelot - your tag will be tucked away in a 'safe' place.Izzy - what a star you are!Wicked Lady - that's a lot of travelling, dancing and music playing. Sounds a lovely summer. Enjoy Whitby.I'm contemplating buying a new fridge / freezer. My present one is over 20 years old and working well though I'm sure that it's not at all energy efficient and probably costing a fortune to run. I'm going to run down the freezer part before doing anything about it. There's bound to be stuff in there which is beyond saving or eating. I need a 70 / 30 or 60 / 40 split rather than my current 50 / 50.The other day I discovered the 'audio description' button on my TV remote control - what a revelation it was. All those interminably long dark scenes in dramas or films where I could never fathom out what was happening suddenly became clear. All the action is described so well though how the person doing the describing knows is still beyond me!I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Sunday to all.11 -
Morning folks. I am a latecomer this morning. Sadly not because I slept in. I got stuck in to various jobs I knew I wouldn't do if I left them for later!
The bed has been stripped and the bedding washed but dithering over what to do with it! The forecast is for showers later but do I believe them? Yesterday's forecast thunderstorms never appeared and all we got were a few spits and spots which lasted about a minute!
A pot of lentil & bacon soup has been made to accompany my lunches over the next few days. My last hm cottage pie is defrosting for my lunch today, and an assortment of veg prepped to go with it. A large pack of mince is defrosting to replenish my freezer stocks. One half for more of the afore mentioned pies and the other for something else that's yet to be decided upon!
An order has been done for an Ocado delivery midweek. Long may the Wednesday 99p delivery slots be available!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and those with poorly loved ones.

Morning all
Looks to be a nice day here we are hoping to bbq later so hope it stays nice I have some minty lamb chops in the freezer and I will do some roasted new potatoes and I got some fresh beetroot which I par boil and then roast and serve with butter and Parmesan and I will do some salad.
DD and friend got in very late last night so I think there may be some sore heads this morning !We need to take up the old stair carpet today and then do a tip run, we have an old bbq to go and some old curtain rails and the carpet, we then need to empty the boot cupboard as the decorator is going to give that a coat of paint, he said he should finish by Tuesday.
Dogs will need a good walk later as well. I have put a wash on this morning so that can be hung out for a while.
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning all, I thought it was Monday today, think I'm losing the plot ! I gave my jigsawing a bit of a rest yesterday afternoon and did some ironing, I must be sickening for something 😁 I did get frustrated with myself as I couldn't remember how to set my new iron to steam and had to call Mr Fix It, I must be losing my mind.
Today I want to make a chocolate cake as DGD is coming tomorrow for a sleepover and she loves old school choc cake and custard, she would be have been happy with my grammar school dinners, they were just up her alley. If I feel energetic I'll run the hoover over the stairs, hall and dining room. I'll hold off doing a roast dinner till tomorrow when DGD is here and we'll have pie and chips today.
Have a good day whatever you are doing.
Take care all
