The extract from the contract you shared reads that there will be nothing more than that.
All this discussion about sickness seems irrelevant to the situation you find yourself in and introducing it to the scenario can only make matters worse.

I think you need to take ownership of the situation you are in, which is entirely of your own making and manage that in the least damaging way. Pursuing alternative paths, or fabricating sickness scenarios, would only seem to be capable of making the situation worse.2 -
