He should be on:
Gross Income £250.00
Tax-Free £100.48
Taxable Amount £149.52
Tax £27.75
National Insurance £17.93
Net Take-Home £204.32
What is his tax code?0 -
If it's not his only job, then yes, it's about right, assuming he's being taxed normally in the other job.
If it is his only job, then he's paying too much tax - the NI is probably right.
Contact his employer in the first instance, get a P46 and fill it in.0 -
yes hes only got 1 job will find out his tax code when he comes home ,will we be able to get back what hes over paid0

He needs to ask his employer for a form P46 - he signs this to say it's his only job. He then needs to ring the tax office (employer will give him the name of the office and you can find the number on www.hmrc.gov.uk) and ask them what information they need to put him on a proper code number. The refund will then come through his pay, once HMRC issues the code.
Make him do this now, don't wait til the end of the year.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
his code is brw10

He should have completed a P46 already if he did not hand in a P45.
This being the case he cant complete another one.
Chances are he ticked the wrong box or didnt sign the form, hence the BR coding.
Your hubby will need to contact HMRC to have his code updated0
