COVID

Options
Hello

I work in the bank at the NHS and on Monday I was sneezing a bit and felt ever so slightly under the weather. I felt well enough to work and put it down to the fact that I hadn’t eaten. I felt better when eaten so I put it down to the fact I hadn’t eaten.

However the next day I got quite aggressive symptoms of COVID and made the decision to stay off work and do a test. It turned out positive. I’ve now to contact nurse bank. My concern is I’m in trouble and may not be asked to come back.

I can’t afford to lose this role.

Thanks

contact the nurse bank and find out their policy, its usually 10 days for nursing but could be less.
i would be very surprised if you lost a job because of this.

The NHS are aware that people get ill, they do not sack people for being ill. You obviously will not get bank shifts whilst you are off ill, but they will resume once you are fit for work again, although perhaps not immediately due to needing to schedule shifts, but then again you would also be able to cover someone else who has gone off sick.
