Help with job and ccj

Hey people,
I really need some professional advice.
I have been offered a job at a Fintech conditional of background checks. It is a job in the commercial department with no financial responsibilities. There are several checks but the one that worries me is the credit check.
I was issued a ccj 3 years back due to not being able to pay off some credit cards because I was working in hospitality before Covid 19. Have just recently started to pay it off. It’s £2k and completely payable, specially if I get the job. I also have 2 other defaults which I am paying off.
im new to fintech or any financial company so this was a shock to me when I found out this could be an issue by reading online.
Was also the top candidate all the way through the recruitment process and was told this at many points. Also to add that I was never asked to declare bad credit/IVAs/CCJs/Bankruptcy, not even by the screening company. Only asked to sign a document to allow them to check.
It’s hireright doing the checks which are still in process and have not fed it back to the company yet but I’ve seen they checked my credit already.
the company hasn’t asked or mentioned anything about it at this point.
so question is, shall I reach out to the company and tell them voluntarily, or shall I wait for the results of the checks to get back and tell them if they ask me?
all my close friends tell me to wait, that it most likely won’t be a big deal, but to be honest, none of them have any experience in the Financial Services industry.
please any advice would be much appreciated

from what from what I read online the main risk around hiring someone with unpaid debt is related to Anti Money Laundering, Fraud & Bribery policies as they can be prone to this crime.
so would telling them without them asking eliminate this risk for the employer?0 -
It could be an issue, it may not be. If it is not an issue then telling them will show you are being open about it an it would present well to them, if it is an issue then not mentioning it will likely make things worse as part of the process, depending on role may depend how open you are. It might also be a blanket no for that role.
How quickly could you clear it in full as an unsatisfied CCJ is likely a far bigger issue than a satisfied one?0
