Euro Lock Key Cutting Cost

Matchbook
Posts: 20 Forumite

Looking to get another key cut for my door, it’s a standard euro lock key I need.
Looking online key cutters don’t seem to advertise pricing, does anyone know the prices for the following? And if there is any discount for getting a second copy cut?
If no one knows, I’ll reply and fill in the details but thought it could save me visiting the following shops;
- Timpson
- the range
- machine in Asda
- anywhere else

Honestly can't remember what the amount I paid was last time I did this - pretty sure there was a discount for more than one - TBH I suspect they are all pretty similar so try the nearest place0

Hi,it'll probably only cost about a fiver, so just use your nearest key shop, seems you're trying to save money, so just buy a blank, will be a code on existing key, and match up keys then file down, smooth off any roughness.0

Go for Timpson. I like the way they support ex offenders, their prices are very competitive and if there's anything the matter with the key they will recut it for you for free.
The only key we have that we can't do this for is our front door which is oddly restricted to one local company based on the code on the key rather than matching the cut. Don't know why but no one else can deal with it. (well it's because they don't have the blanks. Also know that the previous owners were security freaks, locks on every single thing!!)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards.
