National insurance contributions

Please forgive this trivial self indulgent question but I haven’t had any success with google.
I’m checking my NI record on Gov gateway & I have 49 full years of contributions with one more year to pay before I reach state pension age on 6/4/24. I know that NI is deducted from age 16 to 66 (in my case) but can everyone achieve 50 FULL years of contributions or is it only possible if your birthday coincides with the financial year? & might I be amongst the first?

No, not everyone. Most people have a final, partial year which does not count for SP purposes. However, counteracting this is the fact that most people currently under SPA will be reaching SPA at 67 or 68, so they will be able to achieve 50 years of contributions even if their final partial year doesn't count.N.
