Buying an annuity now

Reference my last post above at 12:32
I just went back on that link I was going on about.
It appears very easy and user friendly.
It's got about 8 quick pages, I did a quote asking annuity to start in 3 years times approximately and it quoted 7.1K PA paid monthly for 100K and age at activation 65 being about 3.5 years from now, 2027.
Then on the bottom of each page you can go back using the Back Button, I cycled to page 1 or 2 and changed activation to next month and then it just allows you to advance on a Button at the bottom of each page and you can leave or adjust all the various variables you desire, I only changed activation date from 65/2027 to 61.5/2023 and just pressed quote again, figure was 7.1K for 2027 and now it's 6.5K for next month.
I just picked level term with no inflation, spouse or medical conditions.
It's indeed a nice site to use, direct link below.

I find the Moneyhelper tool gives slightly lower quotes compared to the on from HL but both are good as a general guide.1

When I googled deferred annuities I found statements to the effect that they are quite common in the US but are very scarce in the UK. So as somebody commented in the other thread, I think you may have misinterpreted the results of your form-filling. I'll believe it if you can produce an actual page from a well-known firm that says they provide them.

Same could be said the other way around I guess. Everyone is different. I'm 64 this year, and probably somewhere in-between. Completely leaving out the financial side of it. As in, I was on the same income in retirement as I am working, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I realise I'm probably in a small minority!QrizB said:Johnnyy_Boy said:
Of course I could but currently I enjoy what I do.barnstar2077 said:Could you not just retire now and purchase an annuity? My mum passed away before 70. I hope you live to a ripe old age, but nothing is guaranteed.Do you enjoy it more than you would enjoy being retired?Life is a zero sum game. Every year you spend working is a year you don't spend retired.0
