This is weirdMaybe send them both of to the pro repairer and ask if they can find a common (as in shared, not as in well-known) fault? But I'm glad to hear that your NOS inverter is working 100%.N. To their credit, they've accepted theirs back with no argument.I might have a good magnifying glass look at my own first. The issue with that one is that I don't even know if my 'relay' repair was successful, as it turned into a 'mare!I'll ask them to update me on what they find with theirs. The E031 fault is a very well known issue with these otherwise great inverters - if you have one, it'll 'go' at some point! But I can't find anything about the zero Riso issue. And I have two of them.... :-(.I'll update with any developments.0

Thanks Markin. The large pin on my relay was burned away to nothing, and what i';d estimate to be at least a 3mm diameter hole had also been eroded away around it, right through the PCB. Quite smelly.I am pretty experience with soldering - it was a hobby as a lad, I taught it for a decade, and still turn my hand to it now and then - such as with blown inverters. But, man, it turned out far more awkward than I'd anticipated as some pins were soldered to both sides of the PCB. Also, some PCB holes were sleeved to connect the two sides. This meant that the solder had to be melted right through from one side to the other, whilst also not overdoing it to the extent of lifting the thinner tracks. Needless to say, I failed miserably, and I had to repair the tracks on two relays, adding thin wires to connect the sides and attach to the tracks. Much cursing ensued, and family knew to avoid me...Then, when I refitted the inverter, it returned this Riso error, which I put down to something I'd done to it during this repair. I still don't know if my actual E031 repair was ok or not!0

Heedtheadvice said:You taught soldering but didn't know about through played holes on pcbs....Sorry couldn't resist ( no pun intended!! )Ha-ha - yup!I knew about their existence, of course..., but didn't expect it here. Hidden under the body of the relays, as they were :-)I also had to buy a second soldering iron as my fine-tipped 30Wer wouldn't touch the heftier pins. The other issue was, neither the desoldering pump nor the braid could suck the solder from what was a narrow tube running through the PCB - a complete 'mare. But seemingly quite straight forward for many other folk :-(In future - if anyone with this issue is reading - I'd do two things: the first is to replace ONLY the failed relay! For the rest, simply re-wet the pads, adding a nice touch more solder as necessary. And the other is to dismantle the relay in situ so that you are only left with the pins sticking out of the board. Then you can gently extract each one out as you melt.(Still needed major surgery to one hole, of course...)0
