Lowell statute barred?

Hello, thank you for any advice in advance.

I recently received a letter from Lowell regarding 3 debt that I know for a fact I haven’t engaged with for at least 8 years.

Previous to this they were being managed by CAP (Christians Against Poverty), but due to the fact I lost my job thus could no longer make payments I was dropped.

Am I right in thinking that even though at one point they were being paid the fact it was more than 8 years ago means they are statue barred.

Also in the letter they mentioned I’ve recently made payments to them for completely different debts, this is provable because the reference on the standing orders do not match these debts in the letters.

Thank you again for reading.
