Good morning, it's an early start from me, I've been awake half the night and finally gave up on sleep and got up!
I know I'll be yawning my way through the day but hey ho.
it looks as if it has rained overnight, but it's bright enough, yesterday turned out to be fine and warm.
It's Ds's birthday today and I left it to Dh to make some arrangement with the birthday boy and family, but it's a bit vague and I'm still not sure if we are meeting them somewhere or if we are going there.
Yesterday was an ok day, visited my friend and shopped at Aldi, did the ironing. There wasn't much ironing really, i don't do half as much as I used to.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for the early start. Sorry you had a bad night. I was sleeping well until a certain cat decided 5.00 am was a suitable time to trample all over me telling me she wanted breakfast! Cruel mum that I am I made her wait!
I've just been making my O order out for midweek (as it's still 99p for deliveries on Wednesdays) and despite them saying prices are levelling off I am still shocked by some of the price increases. Fish has got ridiculously expensive.
I had a lovely day out in Harrogate. The sun was shining, perfect for ambling around mostly browsing. There were a lot of people wandering around yet most of the shops were quiet. The only spending I did was a few items from the M & S food hall and a card for youngest DGD's birthday next w/e. (I'm keeping quiet about the bag of sweeties for the bus journeys back!) Oh and an air fryer liner which I have not seen before. I will give it a test drive later.
DS is supposed to be coming this morning to give my front hedge a much needed trim but that is weather dependent! We started off with blue sky and sunshine, then out of nowhere came a torrential downpour. That soon passed and the sun is back again. But for how long?
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and MIA. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning.OH has given me a stinking cold so I'm losing my body weight in snot daily [tmi?] so I haven't been doing an awful lot. I did pick up a bench on Friday though which I very quickly sanded yesterday. Today I'm going to a hardware store to get some brackets to reinforce the arms, then I'll start painting it with the leftover fence paint. Off to Wales at some point next week too to see my sister and plan stuff for Italy [ north, not south where the stupid hot weather is]. My cousins son sent a pic to my sister of his friends car in the shade in Catania, it was registering 51 degrees. I took some boiling ham out the freezer yesterday so we'll have that with some beans fromt eh garden and the potatoes next door gave us and some cabbage, which sounds a bit wintery considering it's quite sunny so far, but the potatoes will be with lemon, the beans possibly in oil and vinegar. And then there'll be ham left for OH.Scaret, sorry about your lack of sleep, I feel your pain. Well done for reducing your ironing practice though
TA, Harrogate sounds lovely, I always think of it as sunny with beautiful stone, even though I have yet to visit. snoozer I saw a tip yesterday to take some greaseproof paper with you when shopping for trays so you can seewhat will fit. BM sell them quite cheaply, clear plastic things and the range, and shops like that [ even Lidl] Gers, maybe you and TA should swap hairdressers
WL, well done for keeping walking less dangerous. what a good idea to take secateirs with you too! Izzy, Lego man!
bet you looked lovely though. Rosy, glad you had a good day out, hope you found food at the end of it! SuffolkSue, that sounds like a good experience..and I've always liked the weird names around there, Sutton Hoo sounds so mysterious. carolbee, why the move to Wiltshire? Anyway, time for me to make tea and internet scope while OH is in bed..And time for a second of tea [ the one where I will wake up after drinking it]. Take care all, hope it's sunny for you!

Morning folks.I was woken in the early hours by a torrential downpour with accompanying high noisy winds battering the house. Whilst it's clear now I can see more rain coming over the sea towards me.Yesterday my drive was alternating beautiful and dreadful - all weather related. On the way down too much cloud and rain hid the coastline too much though the drive home the views were clear and breathtaking, I stopped a couple of times to just take it in. I was so relieved to have my hair sorted out, I feel so much less feral now. 😀As for today, I have no idea. There's not enough washing to do. I will probably end up rearranging the small barn shelves as I bought loo rolls in Costco the other day which are still lingering in my car boot. Then there's the new series of Good Omens to watch.TA - I hope that your hedge gets its trim before the rains return. I agree about the winner of Sewing Bee. That final dress was mesmerising, I watched the reveal six times last night before deleting the recording, it was truly outstanding.Scarlet - good luck with the birthday arrangements.Hugs to all our poorlies. Happy Sunday to all.11

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, sorry you didn't have a good night.
I have the little one here, she slept quite well (once she went to sleep) but I didn't! She woke up around 5 but I told her it was too early and she went back to sleep until just before 7. Her Mummy and Daddy will be coming for brunch so we're watching the TV for now.
I managed to paint the living room window surround yesterday, will give it another coat this afternoon. I'm not going to get overwhelmed like I did a couple of weeks ago - slow and steady will do.
Rotten weather this morning, very grey with torrential downpours every 5 minutes, hope it imporves later.
Have a happy and peaceful Sunday, take care. XX10 -
Morning all. Sunny here so far.
Yesterday was a productive morning; getting washing done, ironing, a bit of shopping, and made an appointment for an eye test. Watched some of the cricket then went out for a bit of geocaching with DH. We had sausages and wedges for dinner but our butchers has a newish owner and the sausages aren't nearly as tasty now so a bit disappointing.
Also made some shortbread as we're popping over to DD's later today and her DH loves shortbread.
Hope everyone's Sunday goes well.10 -
Morning all
@-taff we have been visiting my brother for the last couple of years and love it. No other family close by so we thought why not! DH did the Wadworth 50 mile cycle ride last weekend and loved the landscape for his cycling. It’s getting extremely built up too where we are, and just not as nice as it was. We have lists of areas to explore......
off for a walk whilst it’s dry.
take care allCarolbee11 -
Hi everyone, Peace still reigns here (and tidiness and I'm not just talking about the children here). Laura was a very tidy teenager and young woman but since she's been married that's changed. Nothing ever seems to gets thrown away or put away and they don't seem to understand that these things take seconds if you do them as you go along but half a day when the mess builds up to epic proportions. Every time I clear the kitchen table I think maybe it will stay that way for a while but not a chance, I'd almost get rid of it but then the mess would migrate to another, maybe less welcome surface. Fridge sorting is coming along I wonder how long it will last. Have a good day.9

Morning all, looking a bit grim out there, and windy. A chilled day today I think, nothing planned , anyway.Yesterday I ended up going to a pre season friendly football match with DS2 & DGS, first going in the club shop to get DGS the new team strip, then a walk round the stadium as we were early. We then met up with DB for a drink before the game. They ran me home afterwards, & dgs dashed in the house for an ice lolly, & DS for a piece of the pork pie DH got earlier from the butchers! He also got some kebabs to bbq and had prepared Spanish prawns too, so a welcome surprise- I didn't have to do anythingWe watched a film in the evening.Taff hope your cold goes quicklySnoozer , understand where you're coming from re adult offspring tidiness- DS1 always had a tidy house when he was still with his GF- retained those habits for some time after they split & he moved back here but not anymore - the kitchen worktop is one of my bugbears too!Carolbee- hope your house sells fast!Scarlet Happy Birthday to DS, hope you have a good day. TA sounds like a nice trip to Harrogate.I've dug out some flat iron steak from the freezer & I think I have a sachet of pepper sauce somewhere too for later.Hope everyone has a good day x

Hello all, I'm still alive ! Thank you all for asking about me.
I've been super busy with lots of appointments and to-ing and fro-ing, gardening including taking down a couple of feet off some conifers, trying to tame some shrubs again and clearing out Mr Fix It's shed which has taken us 3 days already and it's still not finished. We've had to deal with 2 of Dad's "emergencies", then clumsy me had a fall. Nothing broken but I'm very bashed and bruised and have taken the skin off part of my right foot. Shook me up good and proper so now I have a part in the walking dead show without the aid of make-up, I even have the limp !
I'm hamster sitting till the 6th Aug as DD and family are motorhoming around Scotland, look out up there !! Dgs's hamster is a bit of a bruiser as he hangs on the roof bars of his cage and then uses them like monkey bars to go from front to back, he must be in training to be a ninja hamster !! DGd's 2 are sweeties but so fast around their cage, they're just a blur.
The weather is dire today with yet more rain and the bedding needs washing but it will have to wait as I can't abide really wet washing hanging around, good job I have more than one set. Dinner today will be lamb etc and I'm really looking forward to that, cost an arm and a leg though.
Take care all
nan xx
