I'm a regular church attender, have been since childhood. I'm sure that you would be made very welcome! At the start of every service at our church, the vicar welcomes any visitors to the church, and makes sure that the instructions for the service are very clear.
I haven't attended Midnight Mass, because now I have children, I get little enough sleep as it is! I don't want my Christmas spoilt by being too tired. I do know that the church is usually packed out - and there are usually a few that have had a bit too much to drink...
We'll be going to the Nine Lessons and Carols tomorrow evening, which is my favourite Christmas service, and it is by candlelight - this is always when Christmas begins for me! We'll also be going to the family service on Christmas morning. Now the children are teenagers, I don't insist that they come - but they do unless ill. They said it wouldn't be Christmas otherwise!
May I wish you a very merry Christmas!!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Serena, I too have been a church attender since childhood but not always the same denomination. DH came to it late in life, was brought up in an older religion, but it never made any sense to him so he cut loose from it long ago. We found the Methodist Church when we got together 10 years ago - we were looking for a church which we could be part of and where ultimately we could be married. Neither C of E nor Catholic would have married us.
Most churches are much more welcoming now than they used to be. We've gone to other churches when we've been away on holiday or on long weekends, and we've always been welcomed.
Just try it!

We are regular church goers and we attend a free church. the children really love it and have picked up a lot of things love, faith, hope etc. we attended a special service called christingle and it was brilliant with us finishing with lighting the candle to imply we are the light of the world. I only wish we could have gone out to the streets with it. it really was special. all i can say is this season is always so special and we feel so blessed to belong to a church family that is so alive
good luck on christmas day, the carols are usually fantastic
sorry for rambling on !!!!

There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

We had our nativity today and it was wonderful all the children in Primary
3-12 were dressed in costumes and they read and sang beautifully. It was so lovely and tonight my young grandson, 22 month, wore a donkey tabbard with a hood with donkeys face on it when we went to our Carol concert he looked so lovely. We are LDS and the church really encourage families to be together. We have so many babies and toddlers that it can get noisy at times but thats all part of the next generation.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
