Natwest - Mortgage assistance

Hi all

I have a mortgage with Natwest and unfortunately due to the rising rates fallen back on payments and currently in arrears.  I was assured by the bank that the government is to announce help for people struggling, which they did, however, since I am in arrears the option of a an only interest payment is not available to me!  So it is a catch 22!  Is this the case with all banks for people in my situation?  Thanks

Key thing to do is communicate with Natwest. The second you go silent as well as not paying is when problems with progress.

Give them a call and go through your situation with them, it’s in their interests to find a solution as well.

OP, it would be a good idea for you to post on the debt free wannabe board, and get some advice from the experts over there.

In general terms, your mortgage is a priority debt and that means allowing some other types of debt you may have to fall into arrears if absolutely necessary.
