Date Pension Payable From

Options
I was 67 on 17 July 2022 . My accountant has advised i only have eight qualifying years and advised me to Top up my pension ( currently nil) by 16 years ; so I will have 24 years . If I do this will my state pension be backdated to 17 July 2022 or is it payable from date I make Top up payment ? Also can someone confirm weekly sum I will receive for 24 years contributions.

It'll be backdated to the point at which your payment was received.

It's not possible to be precise on how much you'd get as it will depend on your exact individual circumstances, but broadly speaking you'd probably be looking at around £140 a week (that's 24/35ths of the new state pension)

The pension will be from the date payment is received.
Have you spoken to TPS yet, who will only reply in writing ?  Getting it all in order could take many months.
24 years should get you around £139.68 but it may not be as straightforward as that depending on your actual history.
