Are there any benefits of shorter mortgage term?

If you don’t want to mess with multiple accounts and trying to beat the mortgage rate but want the flexibility, just get an offset mortgage.0

Second the idea of an Offset mortgage brilliant
Again popular on the Mortgage Free Wannabe board.

I guess it's going slightly off-topic but offset mortgage rates come with higher rates for example 5 years at Barclays - 5.52% for fixed and 6.25% for offset.
So going for fixed rate and keeping money in saving account is still better idea as we pay less interest and savings rates either fixed 6% or ISAs 5.7% offer better rates.
Taking the longest possible term and keeping money in savings account as for now is the cheapest option.0
