Remortgage + credit cards

When remortgaging with an existing lender I have been advised there is no credit check. Do that mean credit card balances don’t need to be taken into account with affordability? I have 2k on a cc hoping to clear by the end of the year but can look at rates with my current lender next month and not sure if I need to declare I still have balances on my cards or not

When taking a new product with the same lender, there will be no need (and probably no opportunity) to declare any credit card balances.

For future readers the OP is describing a rate switch or product transfer not a remortgage. The rates vary so it's important to ensure you are looking at the right place on a lender's website.

Existing lender = product transfer or rate switch = products for existing borrowers not moving home.

Remortgage = new mortgage from new lender = products for those moving their mortgage to new lender not moving home.
