SIPP tax relief

I see where the difference is now. The tax rebate is indeed around £500. However, since my £2500 pension contribution reduces my take home pay it also reduces the amount I would have to repay to HMRC for child benefit since my salary was over £50k. So I have a tax rebate and less child benefit recovered. A double plus.
Thank you for your input.

It may also increase your Personal Savings Allowance since that depends in whether you are above the English HR tax threshold. So you could be paying Scottish HR tax, but still get the £1,000 nil rate band.0
