Employment Tribunal - Withdrawn. Costs?

Hello All,

After a bit of advice. I have had to withdraw a claim for unfair dismissal.
This was submitted to the employment tribunal but 4 months short of the hearing.

I have already received something from the employer - via a Solicitor.

I know they are within their rights to chase any costs - but just wondering what you might think this would be? At this stage?

Many Thanks!

Solicitors will frequently say that they will seek / apply for costs as a "try on" but that doesn't mean they will succeed in getting them!

Generally in an ET cost will only be awarded if your case was so weak is should never really have been contemplated or brought just to annoy / get your own back on the employer. Normally if there is any likelihood of this happening there will have been some pretty clear hints from the judge at any pre hearing.
