Specialized/Kona Mountain Bike

I've just had my bike stolen and so am looking for a replacement, thinking about a Specialized Rockhopper Pro Disc or a Kona Caldera/Cinder Cone.
Anyone know of any bargains as the 2005 season is nearly over and 2006 models starting to turn up? The Pro Disc is around £950 but I was hoping to find a deal.

Talk to your nearest Halfords. Theyu are Kona stockists and should be able to offer some advice. HTH0

Just a warning, buy a really strong lock
Thieves love Kona. We had a Shred stolen, got a replacement then that was stolen too. Eventually got one back, it now gets doubled-locked inside the doubled-locked shed
Halfords online is a bit cheaper than a Halford's shop. Having said that, it might pay to visit the shop first, they're open to haggling

I`m on my 3rd specialized as previous 2 stolen. If your insurance company want to replace your bike, insist that you get one in the same condition as the one you lost.I got a bike-in-a box kit and had to pay my local bike shop £10 as I couldn`t set up the gears correctly.
I met a bloke at the library bike park recently. He told me that someone put a better lock than his on his bike. The police said this happens a lot. They wait till dark, cut off your lock and there goes your bike.0 -
On the original topic, there are a couple of online places to keep an eye on.
www.wiggle.co.uk
www.chainreactioncycles.co.uk
www.merlincycles.co.uk
and a price comparrison site:-
www.bikepimp.co.uk
Other than that it's a case of trawling google for online stockists, talking to your local bike shop or hanging out at halfords (*shudder*).
On the lock topic, I tend to think if someone wants your bike they'll have it. So get a half decent lock (I use a new yorker) and make sure your insurance is up to date...

Got a Rockhopper Pro Disc for £899 in the end from http://www.cyclopediauk.com which is local to me. Not bad £50 off so I could splash out on an Abus lockLangers0
