Second home tax - cladding issues?!

Hi
has anyone had any success with deferring or reclaiming second home tax for those forced to move out of flats with unsafe cladding?

We are unable to stay in our current flat (growing family!) and would like to buy a new house but cannot sell the flat as the cladding issues remain unsolved due to cowboy freeholder. My question is, is there any way to have the second home additional tax waived - this isn’t a situation we are choosing and aren’t trying to start a property empire!

I am presuming you are referring to having to pay Council Tax on a "second home". I would suggest you explain your circumstances to the council and see if they would give a discount. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
