Error on my NI record?

Options

My NI record shows 35 Years of full contributions. However, when I manually count those years as presented on the GOV site, they only add up to 34.

I spoke with future pensions who couldn’t really explain the discrepancy but kept saying don’t worry, the forecast is what you will get. I have one year left to retirement and no longer pay any NI stamps as I don’t work or claim any state benefits. Thus if there is an error, I will have to buy several weeks of credits to complete a full year to be sure I have the 35.

My state pension forecast is £215.41, and I cannot improve my forecast anymore.

How do I find out what is going on, if future pensions don’t know?

as has been said many times on here, the 35 year rule doesn't apply to you its only for anyone from 2016.
your forecast is above the pension and its probably because you never contracted out in the past. don't worry you will not have to buy anymore years as you can't improve your forecast.

    Thanks @geordiejon

I didn't search on the forum as I assumed the Future Pension advisor would have explained it to me in those terms. I'll take a look around the forum :)

New State Pension full amount is £203.85 https://www.gov.uk/new-state-pension/what-youll-get

That your forecast is more (£215.41) means you have a better state pension due to the Old Pension (30 years contributions for full of £156.20) plus the Additional State (Earnings Related) Pension contributions you made before 2016.  https://www.gov.uk/additional-state-pension/

So don't worry. Your forecast is what you will get next year (plus any inflation increases, as applicable).

It's like a magical mystery tour. No doubt it will hit me one night whilst asleep. But I still cant work out why the their stated figure of 35 years is different to the 34 years shown in list form. Also, I sill have stated for the year '2022-2023 Your record for this year is not available yet' Yet is was shown as 'Year is not full' 10 days ago.

    My god, its complex !
