It's a completely standard term of a mortgage anyway, not anything special to HSBC.1

Off the topic but could I ask the OP how long it took to get their offer from HSBC? I am currently waiting to hear from them re my own application.

I am at 21 days since submitting application and payslips, radio silence since then. L&C chased but told was in a queue.0
