Trainpal Get 34% off a (digital) railcard, Chinese app, should we be concerned?

It is not untiil you receive your email confirmation of purchase with Chinese characters for currency that you realise this is a Chinese app, as confirmed with a google search. Given all the concern about Chinese infiltration of UK digital networks, are we unknowingly selling off our personal data for a tenner rather cheaply? I would have stuck with the usual railcard at renewal if I'd know and foregone this offer. MSE did your reasearch fall short on this offer?
