CCJ

Hi, Im not sure this is the correct section but wondering if anyone can help? My friend is trying to get a mortgage but there seems to be a CCJ against her. This is apparently from a 2019 parking charge. She moved house just after the incident so had no idea as no correspondence was forwarded on to her current address. She has been in touch with the company concerned and paid (not sure of the total amount) but over £300 but the CCJ is still on there, should she do something else now to get it removed and how long does it usually take?

She can’t get it removed just by paying it unless she paid it within a month of the judgement. If it was longer than a month it will show on her credit history for six years.
if it was for a parking charge, did she update the DVLA with her new address? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Parking fines are best dealt with on the parking board, who would have advised her to apply for setaside. This would have seen the claim rolled back and the judgement removed. She would then defend the claim.
I'm not sure that any such avenue is open to her now that she has paid it. The entry stays for 6 years as an accurate record of the judgement.
However it should now be marked settled

A ccj shouldn't stop you getting a mortgage but she would need a specialist broker.
Why not ask on the parking board if they have any ideas?
I would imagine if she put in an N244 the parking firm might ignore it - they might have come across this situation before1 -
You mean she didn’t put a mail redirection on when she moved, like most people do?0
