Cheap product Tesco disappeared during online ordering process

While creating an online order I noticed Rosedene raspberries £1.49, but ordered a different raspberries option. Then later in the ordering process it told me the raspberries I selected were out of stock and suggested another pack of raspberries that I might buy. Rather than choose the more expensive alternative they suggested, I then decided to go back in to order the cheaper Rosedene £1.49 raspberries, but they were no longer showing on the website at all. When I rang Tesco they confirmed that for them the £1.49 raspberries were showing as available for online shoppers who were ordering from the store that my order was coming from. On advice I tried logging out and in again, closing the computer and reopening etc, but no luck. Then after quite some time the £1.49 raspberries suddenly reappeared. So I wonder if Tesco are doing the same devious practise that some other online sites do, of artificially increasing prices when they detect that customers are following a certain shopping pattern.

That’s a lot of messing about for £1:49 raspberries 😂 If they flag up as out of stock move on, order strawberries 😏2

No, they don’t do that. It could be something as simple as the SKU on the product changing so they discontinued one SKU of the raspberries & went live with a new one, but the product to the customer is effectively the exact same. The app/website also estimates if the product will be available at the time & date your order will be picked, hence why something can show as out of stock online but is currently on the shelf in the shop.2
