Thanks for starting us off Scarlet. My trip home took longer than usual as I wanted to return a jumper bought in Hexham and my sat nav took me over country roads, I must have pressed to 'avoid motorways'. Actually I enjoyed that part. Then, coming out of the parking space at the shop I managed to drive my car against a stanchion 🙁 so the passenger door is mightily dented. A few swear words got it out of my system before I drove the rest of the way home. I'll start to deal with the repair on Monday. There was beautiful weather most of the way until about five miles from my house where the heavy drizzle was. I had brought with me my leftover Chinese takeaway from Thursday night so fried that up quickly and wolfed it down. Delicious!Today will be for mostly resting. I've a few programmes to catch up with. Last night I watched the sewing bee, professional bake off and NCIS, fast forwarding through adverts and filler bits.I read back on the past few days of the thread later. Meanwhile I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Saturday to all.11

Morning all
Its a bit overcast here and rain due this morning, we are supposed to be going to an event on the village playing field tonight where there is a band playing and you take your own food and drink, they are making a decision at lunch time if it’s to go ahead or not, I hope it does as it’s always a nice evening.
I might need to go out and get some picnic bits this afternoon if they decide it’s going ahead if not I shall look in the freezer for something for dinner.
We need to give little dog a haircut this morning her hair is getting very long and growing over her eyes, she will be more comfortable with a cut.
I packed my suitcase yesterday so just the last minute things to go in now which I will do tomorrow. I’m getting very excited now 😃
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for starting off. I am back home as, in view of the thunderstorms forecast to be heading our way this morning, I decided to come home last night while the going was good! As it turns out the rain has yet to arrive and we still have patches of blue sky but I'm sure it won't be for long.
I got my light wash done last night and after a night on the airer it was dry this morning. That has now been replaced with the dark wash that was done this morning. I was just about to do my Ocado order when DF rang from Oz and we chatted for about an hour so that is yet to do. So that is my next job! I am hoping I can still get a 99p Wednesday early morning delivery slot as there is nothing I am fast for.
I did too much nibbling on naughty bits whilst at the 'van so a weekend of some sensible eating is on the cards for me. It will be a ham salad bagel for lunch and I have some fish out defrosting for tea. A few jobs will get done this morning and then it will be a lazy afternoon watching the women's single final followed by watching some catch up tv.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and getting better. Take care all be safe xx

Morning allWe've had our rain shower this morning and am now waiting for the high winds to arrive! Have stripped the bed and will hang out the bedding in a mo as the washing machine has just played it's 'just finished' tune and will use plenty of pegs so that it doesn't fly away. Just took some cupcakes out of the oven so will ice them when they're cold. We're have a move round in the spare room so am just sitting here with a coffee before DH calls me up to help.@Redruby1231 have a lovely holiday and hope you cope with the temperatures. We came back from Greece just over a week ago and it was 32 degrees then so am pleased we missed the high temperatures that have arrived since.Have a good day all9

Hello everyone, I think we have thunder due soon . We've had a useful morning doing a tip run. I was in the loft all afternoon yesterday getting rid of stuff but there ended up too much to put in the skip at DH work. Still plenty to go at and a mountain of shredding as well.Curry for tea later.Have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone and thanks for the start @Gers. Annoying about the car
Blowing a hoolie here but 2 loads of washing pegged out and nearly dry with a third to go out shortly. We are off to a silver wedding anniversary garden party later where there will be a hog roast. DDad and DS2 are going on a boys night out to see Mission Impossible.
I've made a shopping list for Aldi tomorrow - had a delivery from Ocado last week and felt like I had to do several top ups so much prefer to go in person when I can. Hope to try out our new BBQ tomorrow as the weather looks fine.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Afternoon..plumber came this morning, he looked about twelve but he did the job and four rads have now been removed, huzzah! I had to get up stupid early though [went to bed late, had a shower at half one in the morning because Iknew I wouldn't have time when I got up] but I am now free to nap to my hearts content. Made a pulled pork type thing with three chops and some pork mince yesterday so that's supper with some oven chips. I will schedule in a freezer stock take at some point this weekend. I have no plans today now, although OH has jumped on the house bandwagon and told me we will be plastering the little room. FIne by me, go ahead and sort it out I say...Gers, what a pita about the car. Ruby, happy time away, hope you're not in the 49 zone! TA, probably a good call! Hi and bye Scarlet! Right, take care all, it's a changeable one today...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...6

@Gers - Hope your car can be fixed without too much expense.
I've been doing family history research for a friend in Hexham and the surrounding area (Chollerton and Birtley today). Would love to come and visit someday.7 -
Afternoon everyone
Late one from me as little one stayed last night. My first wake-up call was at 5.30 this morning when she announced 'it's sunny granny get up!' No was the reply and we managed to doze for a while. I had been moaning about the rain yesterday so perhaps she thought she was being helpful!
We went to the library this morning and for hot chocolate and then to my mam and dads for lunch. Dodged the heavy showers to get home again...the sun came out so we sat outside with an ice lolly each - 10 minutes later it was pouring again with loud thunder. It's been like that all afternoon - sunshine...rain...sunshine ...rain. meant to be gale force winds tomorrow.
Meanwhile eldest DD keeps telling me how hot and sunny it is in Germany and has spent all afternoon at the pool! I have pointed out she's getting a bit annoying now.
Going to get my dishes washed and then move a couple of pots to a more sheltered spot so they don't get wrecked by the wind.
Hope everyone's had a day. Sorry to hear about your car Gers
