Hairdresser overcharged me

Hi looking for some advice. My hair dresser has charged me for 90 new extensions but there are only 80 in my head so they have overcharged me. I have had 4 people 2 of which are hairdressers count them yet my own hairdresser is refusing to count them saying the fact I say there are only 80 is “hearsay” and won’t refund me. Can I report them to an authority? What’s my legal position? Many thanks

There is no hair extension authority to pronounce on the number of extensions in your head or to report your hairdresser to.

Your consumer rights are to receive what you agreed and paid for in your contract with your hairdresser.

Do you have any paperwork stating what your hairdresser agreed to provide?

    What does your receipt state?
What was the basis of pricing?
What triggered you to get 4 different people to count them if presumably you were happy with the results after it was done?
    How did you pay?

I know as much about hair extensions as a goldfish knows about quantum mechanics, but many years ago when Mrs O. got them in (for special occasions), the hairdresser always seemed to buy a few spares just in case something happened to one of the fitted items. No idea if that is still the case, but it might account for any difference.

Or maybe 90 is the batch size the hairdresser had to buy for someone who needed 80.
Or maybe they basically charged for doing a job rather than per extension.
Or maybe in any batch a small number are unusable or get damaged/discarded during fitting.
Or maybe there are some attached in such a way that your friends miscounted.
Or maybe that goldfish is Einstein reincarnated.
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!

Or maybe there wasn't room on your head for 90. WHat is she going to do with the other 10? Presumably not enough to use on somebody else

How much were you charged?  What resolution are you after?  A refund of 11%?  The extra ten extensions to be added?
