Changes to layout of MSE competitions pages

Have you been experimenting with the design and overall appearance of the MSE Competitions Time section. I'm pretty sure it's not my laptop,but for the last couple of days I've found it very strange and rather difficult to follow. The changes have not been for the good, in my humble opinion. Why do we always want to 'improve' things?  Isn't there a saying If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It?

Also agree. So many things are unhelpful including the bright red circle at the bottom right.

I don't like the way the bookmark symbol has been moved from the far left to the far right of the page. Why?
