Assessing income for childcare support

Hi, I've read all of the literature regards assessment criteria for free childcare hours and the £100k threshold but do have one question. The assessment has to be undertaken every 3 months. Therefore if for the first 3 quarters of the year your earnings are on track to be under £100k and then in the 4th quarter you tip over the £100k, are you then penalised for the first 3 quarters and the hours you claimed in the first 9 months are then clawed back and/or you then have a bill to pay?

It's based on yearly income not monthly0

Hi there, thanks for your reply. I'm aware it's based on yearly income but my question is if at the quarterly stage your projected annual income is due to be under, but then that changes at the final quarter, what happens in that circumstances?0

As long as when you certify that your income will not be over £100k it is a true statement then you will not have to pay it back. i.e. you are not aware that it will go over and the increase is an unexpected increase- e.g a bonus.
see the information here www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-education-and-childcare--2 in particular page 11 'grace period'.
