Have you tried the comet clearance store at http://www.clearance-comet.co.uk

Or - if you live near Glasgow there is the Comet 'Scratch and Dent' at Possil.

We got our dishwasher from the latter. Brand new (polystyrene still inside it) but had a small dent in the front. We paid £150 for it - full price £300.

Free standing tend to be cheaper (and slightly bigger) than the built in ones. The cheapest built in we could find was an Indesit for £345.

Also expect a jump in your electric bills if you intend to use it regularly. My mum has got a half size free standing one and saw her annual bill go up by £80.

Yikes - either that DW gets some hammer, or it's hideously inefficient... mine only uses up 0.8kWh per wash - so for £80 that's gonna be about 1000 washes (3 per day crudely)

    Hi,

I'm after a dishwasher and have found these two of interest:

    Hotpoint FDW60P
    Bosch SGS43C12GB

They are both around the £250 mark, does anyone have one or recommend either?

    Cheers

    Hi
I have never heard anyone who has had a good hotpoint washer or dishwasher.
I always stick to zannussi but my mum likes bosch, they have always been very reliable in the past.
    Hope this helps? : )

  • We have had hotpoint dishwasher and more recently a bosch. The hotpoint slowly fell apart and eventually died on Christmas Eve, Handy!! Still got about 6 years out of it though. We replaced it with the bosch. Been good and when it broke down last month the customer service was really good. There is a 2 year guarantee with it as well. :rotfl:
