How come OH gets to keep a minority of his wage, and you get into debt?
Given your household situation, and that you've already budgeted to fund a lot on holidays, entertainment, take aways which OH shares, they don't need that wage on top of what you are already spending to get into debt.
Both you and OH should get a small amount of pocket/discretionary money each which you can spend on ents, take aways, whatever you fancy. Everything else goes in the pot. Starting with paying off your cards. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing4 -
As I thought you have a budgeting problem. You cannot afford holidays, £250 on entertainment, over £600 on food and pocket money, £125 a month on presents, takeaways etc etc. you are essentially the only earner as your husbands contribution is nowhere near enough. Some tough family decisions are needed here but if you strip the outgoings to essentials only for 6 months that debt will be gone apart from the family debt.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
