Exit fee on mortgage.

Wondering if anyone has had their extortionate exit fee wavered recently or in the past?
It’s £3k and although the option to port the mortgage was there, the process was made near impossible to do. Even the mortgage advisor said he’s not prepared to do so as he doubts it will get accepted due to the 1000 rules etc.
please don’t question why we are needing to sell. We were very aware of terms etc at point of agreement

You won't get an ERC waived unfortunately.3

Although you consider it extortionate, it is a charge more or less that they will incur.
They will not waive it. I think (could be wrong) some lenders waive it on death as a goodwill gesture but I am sure you would rather pay it...
Its a legitimate fee to cover the costs they themselves will incur. It was in the paperwork, I realise things change especially at the moment, but thats not their fault.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
