English is already doomed. Millions of people are convinced that the proof is in the pudding...fretwej said:Thanks Grumbler. Got more of an understanding now from both replies. Also 100% agree with should have, not should of. Too many people of influence on the TV are saying this now and will have a drastic effect on the way that youngsters talk in the future.
Edit: and there's a worse one than 'should of' becoming the norm - 'based off of' instead of 'based on'.
I decided to let it all go and concentrate on other things - I'm in danger of becoming an even grumpier old man!
