  • I paid for four years a week ago using the HMRC link that paid from my bank account direct to HMRC. I have checked my nation Insurance forcast page the extra years I paid are not showing yet as paid in full does anyone know how long it takes for the account to be updated. Is this something I should be concerned about. Thank you

    Usually 6 to 8 weeks.

It's been a month since I paid HMRC but my national insurance contributions have still not been added my wife's that I paid at the same time was updated within two weeks. Who would I contact to find out why mine has not been credited I used the long number and double triple checked it so I am sure I did it right but now this delay has me worried
  • Thanks to all who assisted me with this both my and my wife's contributions have been credited to our records. From what I see on other sites it's a long wait till pensions increase my monthly payment
Anyone had any recent experiences how long this takes and can you hurry them up anyway. Do they send out a letter first telling you how much will be paid and when.
    Thank you in advance

Your payment to HMRC will be flagged to DWP as a post retirement payment and needing attention. The actual calculating of the new amount is a purely manual process, almost as basic as someone with a piece of paper and calculator. On the HMRC forum they are talking about some areas currently dealing with paper stuff from the end of last year so don't hold your breath !  It will be backdated to the date of receipt of payment.
