Remortgaging on one income

Hello,
I’m trying to find information about this but seem to have come up short.
I’m trying to find information about this but seem to have come up short.
We have a joint mortgage in both mine and my husbands name, we remortgaged 3 and a half years ago on a fixed 5 year term when we were both working and had two incomes, since then we have had our son and I gave up my job to raise him therefore living off 1 income which we are comfortable on, we receive no other form of income except from my husbands job.
Our fixed term comes to an end next year and my question is as I do not work or receive an income, when it comes to remortgaging do I need to also hand in bank statements, have a credit check done against me etc as the mortgage is in my name too even though I’m not working and not receiving an income?
Thanks in advance

You may need to take a customer retention product from your existing lender rather than remortgaging. Look for products for existing customers not moving home, or similar.I am a mortgage broker. If you are changing banks (remortgaging) and you name is on the mortgage you're applying for, the bank will do a credit check on you and could ask for bank statements etc even if you have no income.
If you are with a high street bank, stay with your current bank and simply switch to a new fix then even if both of you are unemployed or have a terrible credit history, it won't stop you from switching.1
