Teeth whitening options

I asked this question a while ago: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6345621/teeth-whitening-at-the-dentist#latest. I am thinking about teeth whitenin again as I recently had a checkup. Here are the options that are available now:
Philips Zoom Whitening
3 syringe kit £269 (10% or 16% carbamide peroxide).
Colgate Luminous Whitening
£199 - uses an application brush (6% carbamide peroxide).
This is a new product you can take home straight away and start using.
White dental beauty
£349 for 4 syringe kit (10% carbamide peroxide).
£369 for 4 syringe kit (16% carbamide peroxide.
Boutique Whitening
£349 for a standard 4 syringe kit (10% carbamide peroxide).
£369 for a standard 4 syringe kit (16% carbamide peroxide).
£469 for a B1 shade guarantee - this includes 8 syringes (16% carbamide peroxide).
I am debating whether the more expensive options are worth it? Apparently they use scans rather than impressions, which is apparently beneficial. The all appear to use carbamide peroxide, which was mentioned by an answerer in my previous question.

In my view, as the acting ingredient is the same in all of the options - you could go for the cheaper option. A bit like you find ibuprofein as Nurofen (couple of pounds) or Supermarket's own brand tablets (under a £1).0

Would you not rather do it with the dentist? Nearly all seem to offer it and you’ll get a safer professional result0

Boutique b1 guarantee is the only one that will refund your money if you don't get to B1.In all of these it is the fit of the tray that makes the difference. Personally speaking anything with an application brush instead of treats will be less effective as the solution will get washed away quicker.
you will find your teeth look brighter but will not go "Simon Cowell" white. Some people take longer than others to whiten , particularly if you eg are a tooth grinder. So you might want to investigate how much the dentist charges for top up syringes in the other versions.Once done your teeth might need topping up every year or so , so again investigate how much is charged for extra syringes as you can keep the trays for years if cleaned and stored properly.0 -
Brook2jack2 I'm a toothgrinder..... can you please expand on why it might be more difficult to achieve the same level of whitening? Thanks0

First , teeth whitening is often done at night, which is when most grinding takes place. The flexing of the tray means the solution leaches out, so it's best to do the whitening during the day .Grinding can cause sclerosis of the tooth ie more mineral is laid down making the tooth darker and more resistant to whitening.
Finally the grinding may have damaged the enamel so the dentine , the yellow layer underneath, is exposed. You cannot whiten dentine.1 -
Thanks for the information, that's very interesting.0
