PayPal Credit Bank Account Access
Hi Everyone,
I'm new here and would like some advice on something I came across this morning. I have Paypal credit which I had previously paid off but needed to use it again to purchase something for my son. The purchase went through ok and I intent to pay the balance in 4 monthly payments to avoid interest. When I check how the direct debit is set-up I notice it is due to come out of an account I would prefer not to use. I therefore followed the instructions to add the bank account I prefer to use. ON doing this it referenced a company called "Ting" and was asking for access to that account including being able to see the balance, transactions etc, and before I had agreed to that it was already showing my balance in that account. I was very uncomfortable with this and immediately shut it all down and decided to call PayPal and query this? When I spoke to their agent he just kept repeating that this was "standard industry practise" and is the same if I set up a direct debit with any other company? Could anyone shed some light on this and tell me if I have to grant full access to my account rather than just give the account number, sort code and agree to the direct debit?
Thanks in advance.

Its not the same policy with every company, only with some companies.
It`s just to check your account is live and active, no reason to be unsure about it, although personally, I don`t like the idea, but it is safe.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
