Rotas

Does anyone know the time scale a company should give if any to send out rotas of what hours they want you to work? My wife works in a nursery and she get her weekly rota every Friday evening which I think is madness as she don't know Friday afternoon what she's working Monday 😳

Frustrating, but is it simply the publication of the rota that’s delayed? Maybe they’re finalised sooner so the details would be available if she asked?

There's no 'should' about these things unless her contract stipulates she'll be given a certain amount of advance warning.

On the other hand, good sense dictates...maybe talk to her employer and explain the difficulties this is causing her, or is it just a minor irritant with no real impact on her life?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

To me, there is little excuse for issuing the rota so late in the week.  As the OP suggests, it gives little time to arrange anything in the way of childcare etc.

we can be told before we go home what are shifts will be the next day - generally we work a fixed roster but it is written in that it can be changed as long as we are told by the end of the shift before. This is civil service so I guess that would mean such things are perfectly fine...
