You've not had a court claim yet.
There's no downside with starting a claim for irresponsible lending, so do that now.
I think if a claim does start then the Financial Ombudsman Services would drop out and expect you to raise it with the courts.
Are you happy that what they have sent you proves that the debt is yours and the figure you owe is correct?
Did they send you a copy of the original agreement? If not, you may want to do a formal CCA request now

I recognise the debt but I am fighting on the grounds of irresponsible lending. I have asked for the written agreement and the debt collector has replied to get that, and I sent an email to the original lender too.fatbelly said:You've not had a court claim yet.
