Survey report for mortgage company

Its been a while since I bought or sold a property, so I have a quick question.
Son is in the process of buying his first house. I asked if he had received a copy of the survey report for the mortgage company, he replied, they dont give you this information.
When I bought my house, I got a copy of both the mortgage company survey and the surveyors report that I commissioned. Is it now the norm not to receive a copy of the mortgage company survey results? TIA

Its sort of 50/50.
Sometimes the valuation will be a desktop valuation so there is no report, its just an idea of the value based on previous sale prices.
Where a physical valuation is carried out, the valuation is done for the benefit of the lender. Its not a given that the customer will get a copy.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
