Just a quick one if porting with them, make sure you check they dont charge you as did with us
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

If the sale and purchase completions were concurrent that's probably down to the solicitor ignoring the instruction to ignore the ERC in such circumstances.
If not concurrent, it's normal for the ERC to be charged and refunded when the purchase completes.I am a mortgage broker. If the Solicitor completes the paperwork correctly for a porting case and the purchase happens on the same day as the sale, Halifax do not levy the early repayment charge.
If, as sometimes happen, the Solicitor does not handle the paperwork correctly, the early repayment charge will be requested on sale.
As KS says above, if the sale happens before the purchase the ERP is charged, then refunded on purchase.I am a Mortgage Broker

Wouldnt suprise if didnt complete it right, was a robo type outfit although halifax recomended them.
