e-mail address generally make no difference - I change mine when they start to get too much spam and have won with various free providers (gmail, outlook, yahoo) and with random letter combinations and letters and numbers mixed0

Do you think it's too informal to use your first middle and last name on a email address, should i use something like bev etc., the only thing i don't like is you have to have loads of number with it.0 -

When I first had an e-mail address, when the internet started, I used my name and an email address from BT or whoever the provider was but switched to free ones (gmail, outlook etc) quite quickly so I wasn't stuck with my provider to keep my e-mails and ditched my name as part of the address as well0 -
They only thing I would say is don't add 'comp' in your email address. As if it does get selected someone may think it is a fake or that you have multiple accounts for comping trying to win, but they shouldn't be allowed to disqualify you without proof. In saying that I have an email address that looks fake (I'm slowly switching over to a better one. But it hasn't stopped me from winning.)
You may be seeing more winners from England as England is a much bigger population and it may have more people who enter.
55.98 million (2018) and only 3.127 million (2018)
Winners on most competitions unless it is effort based is usually selected at random, so it shouldn't matter.
Some people will win 80% of the competitions they enter, others won't win any or just 1%
It also makes a difference of what and how many competitions you enter. If you are entering for a massive prize like a house or car, there is usually going to be loads more entries, than for some pet food etc.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.1 -
I would just add to the post above that a fair number of "effort" competitions are picked at random, it will say so in the T&Cs if that is the case, as it is far simpler for the promoter to run a random draw than a judged effort one.1
