My whole day yesterday was taken up with my hair appointment. I got back home at 3.30pm and gobbled down lunch. I'm now shorn and coloured for the next eight weeks. Not much got done afterwards. On the way there I had a bit of a wait to let the traffic coming off the ferry through the single track, after the bunch there's always the slower moving camper vans ahead to work round. Coming back I encountered a funeral convoy coming the other way so another wait in a passing place to let them all through. It rained all day even when the low cloud lifted. It may be the same today.I hope that everyone has a good and happy Saturday.11

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Not a bad morning, think it has to be better than yesterday. It was cold!
We went to a shopping outlet where Dh was picking up some lightweight trousers he'd ordered from Cot*on Traders. I was browsing the shop while he tried them on and bought a nice pair of thin summer trousers in the sale, wide leg like the ones I was talking about making. I still might make a pair though, they'll come in handy for Oz.
We didn't hang about at the outlet though, it's a wind tunnel, and right on the east coast, which is not known for its balmy breezes. More like a blast from Siberia at times.
We were home for the rest of the day, pottering, and I made a cake, using a recipe I've never tried before.
We have no plans for today, but I can always find something to do.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thinking of our poorlies.
Take care folks.10 -
Morning everyone scarlet I know where you were it is a wind tunnel but worth it if you get a bargain I’ve had a good walk with the dog this morning I need to pop to Lidl in a minute it’s a lot fresher this morning but it’s getting a bit brighter I will get hubby out for a walk this morning as it’s meant to be showers later on . I will give you all a bit of a laugh for the weekend I went to one of my cleaning jobs yesterday they are a lovely couple my favourites really they are normally in bed sometimes I see them sometimes I don’t it just means if they don’t get up I don’t have there room to do I always do the bathroom first then work my way downstairs I did all the bathroom and was just cleaning the shower cubicle and he came shuffling in stark naked and he’s deaf as a post so I shouted his name never heard me so I jumped out of the shower in front of him he nearly had a heart attack he said sorry sorry and started shuffling back so I finished off what I was doing and I gave him a shout he said sorry once again I was just laughing I said it’s like a carry on film in here when he came downstairs he said I’m sorry again I said i bet you never thought there would be a day in your life you would be grateful you didn’t have a body like David Beckam or you would never have got out of that bathroom alive he said you are so funny I said not as funny as your backside shuffling out of that door we were all laughing by the way he is the Deacon of the church they are going on holiday now for 3 weeks so as I left he said see you when we get back so I shouted I’m looking forward to seeing your white bits his wife was just howling with laughter with her head in her hands anyway it cheered my day up . Morning folks and thanks GERS. This weather is going backwards, wet and windy this morning so my rain jacket is back out again.
I'm killing time here waiting for the bus down to town and then I'm off bus tripping. I am bus hopping to Harrogate for a change. The bus only runs on a Saturday every 2 hours so my journey there and back is planned with precision! I'd be scuppered if I missed a connection!
SCARLET I'm a big fan of Cotton Traders but sadly we lost our nearest branch a few years back. But I still order on line and I have never had to return anything. I use them for my t. shirts especially. Although this time I was tempted by a summer dress as well. Bright green maxi length and it was much admired at the family get together last week. I hope summer soon comes back and I can wear it again!!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. IZZY omg who was most embarrassed!
Take care all be safe xx

Morning all, wet and grey here too Gers, & I was chilly yesterday Scarlet, I had to do a lot of hoovering to warm up
. Says 13deg on my laptop, big drop from when it was nice!
Izzy, you do have some interesting work tales to tell us allDS2 has just been on the phone from Turkey wanting me to check his bank, it wouldn't let him as it wasn't a secure connection, and they are going shopping in a local market this morning. It's their last full day, back tomorrow night. We are going to get milk etc. for him today as a lot of roads are shut tomorrow for the Ironman UK events taking place here. Next door did what they call the Night Run 10k last night, I think today is Iron kids, and the big one, triathlon tomorrow.Fish for us all last night, and curry tonight. Enjoy your weekend, pinch punch 1st of the month. My mum always said White rabbits 3 times for luck at the start of a new month x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Nice and sunny here this morning but windy. Yesterday we had rain all afternoon and night, very heavy at times.
Today I'm planning on painting my two garden benches, changing from brown to blue - hopefully it won't be too windy or I'll have blue freckles! I always seem to get in such a mess when I do jobs like that - I have paint spattered jeans and a t shirt I keep in the shed.
Izzy - that gave me a laugh x
Hope everyone has a good day = I'm going to switch my laptop off otherwise I'll get distracted! x10 -
Morning all
Its a bit dull and overcast here this morning but meant to be sunny later on, I hope so as we have a bbq planned for tonight, I treated us to some lamb chops and we have some pork belly strips, I will do some aubergine and courgette to put on the bbq and some new potatoes for the others.
Housework to do this morning and then the dogs to take out for a good walk. I need to nip to the shop too as we need a few bits.
I had all my little cherry spots removed yesterday, I had a huge one on my leg so I am pleased that’s gone, they will take a few days to heal so should be completely gone before our holiday.
Izzy that’s so funny 😂
Have good day’s all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, well I was miffed before I started today. It was dry this morning and no rain in the forecast so I stripped the bed and before I could press go on the wm, the mizzling rain started, I am not amused !! I thought it was going to be a dry day and I had decided to clear out another shed this afternoon too. I shall remake the bed and clean upstairs anyway then perhaps find something else to do, I have to make use of my energy while I have it.
Izzy who was the most shocked ? No wonder you like cleaning there 😁
TA Mr Fix It likes Cotton traders too, he bought 2 pairs of jeans there last year when on hols as we no longer have a local shop either. I bought a padded full length coat in their sale for £10 ! What a bargain.
Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.
Take care all
nan xx
