halifax - so annoying

Just rang halifax to pay £85.00 over the phone against my credit card debt( card cut up 2 years ago ).

Debt currently at £3,500.00.

Anyway, due date was today,my fault thought it was monday. He took the details from me to take the £85.00 from my HALIFAX debit card. He then told me that I will be charged £12.00 as it is late. Okay it's due today but the money has come straight out of my halifax current account.

Am sat here fuming and still thinking , WHY?? The money is automatic.?? I feel like calling them back and telling them:mad:

  • Hi

We have just set up our DMP. Sent out our letters and token payments last week. I rang around them to confirm payments had been recieved yesterday. Halifax were the only ones that were really infuriating, asking me loads of questions no-one else had and really got my back up.

Anyway, today they called me again asking for more money so I re-iterated what I told them yesterday!. This bloke starts going on that if I don't pay it's going to really affect my credit rating ! I said so will being on a DMP, I am not going to get any credit for 6 years so what's another entry on my credit file going to matter :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've told my other half I think we are going to have real problems from Halifax, but at the end of the day they can't have what we haven't got

This is exactly what I have said to my creditors as well! :rotfl:

  • dont get me started on halifax. was paying a credit card off (admittedly only £5 per week as when i started its all i could afford and never got round to upping it) anyway phoned not so long back to find out balance and i had overpaid by £200 - no prob they say as you bank with halifax will transfere to your current account within 7 days... 4 weeks and 2 phone calls later i get my money - wish i could charge them stupid amounts like they do us if we dont pay on time:D
  • I think because it is going from your bank account to credit card account it is classed as a 3/4 day clearance time. Might be worth calling back and asking them to refund the charge, all they can say is no!

They're not my favourite people either-am on a 'no junk mail' thing with them as I have my mortgage with them, andd every time I get another 'you have been specially chosen to get even more in debt-take out a secured loan with us!' letter I phone them to complain-this doesn't count as junk mail, apparently, as 'it's an offer made in my best interest'. Lying hounds

It hasn't. It's showing as 'reserved' just as it would had you spent it on a Debit Card transaction anywhere else. But the actual money won't go from your account until at least tomorrow (and that's only because Halifax - unusually run their systems at weekends - most don't)
