Credit Style chasing Bristol Energy

Hi all
Credit Style have sent a letter to my old address, which was forwarded by the Royal Mail redirection service, informing me Together Energy Retail Ltd., trading as Bristol Energy is no longer trading. The debt relates to a period 24 October 2021 - 22 January 2022. They have sent a copy of a Bristol Energy bill, addressed to me, as proof.
I can't figure out whether they legitimately own my debt or not, as I don't really have a filing system in place. I can't see any payments pertaining to the amount purportedly owed, but the payments I have made seem to indicate that I do indeed still owe that amount (my bill is for £1023.37, I made a payment to Bristol Energy for £542.70 in May 2022, and the amount demanded by Credit Style is £480.67; and 1023.37 - 542.70 = 480.67).
However, looking at the reviews and threads about Credit Style they are notorious for 'scamming' (their words not mine) people and not responding to challenges/correspondence.
So my questions are:

So my questions are:
- Is this legitimate?
- Should I pay or is it Prove-it time?
- How should I respond to them?
- If I should pay, how can I make sure they don't deny receipt?
- Is there anything I'm missing?

Do they refer to "their client" at all in the letter ?
Actually after looking on their website, it appears they are acting as collectors here.
They have sent you a bill, not much else they can do to prove liability, I suppose the question will be, is the bill legitimate ?
Could send the provit letter, unsure what response you would get.
Payments can be made on their website for which receipts will be available.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Are there and drawbacks to the provit letter, as in will I incur admin fees etc. if they basically say 'we sent you the dang bill what more do you want, pay up sonny'
No reference is made to clients though they say 'The Joint Administrators' have asked them to contact me
Are they legitimate then? Looks like I should probably pay but am worried about being scammed0 -
A quick look on companies house website, and the details all match OK.
Interestingly they have 5 charges on their head office premises, 3 of which remain outstanding, so it appears they may have lost a few legal battles in the past.
Personally I detest debt collection companies, I would make them work for their pound of flesh, but that`s me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
