Hello - I'm fairly new to Tesco Clubcard. I have been accruing points but never spent them on anything. :#

I downloaded the app last night, and can see that I have points and vouchers. Can I use my vouchers against my normal grocery shop? I take it I just scan the app after I have scanned all my groceries and it will deduct it from my total? I have yet to look at the reward partners....I think I will be more likely to use them against food.

But what about coupons? I have no coupons, and not sure where they come from either??

Thanks.  :)

Coupons appear in the app from time to time - they are at least somewhat personalised, and are along the lines of '50p off when you spend £3 on ice cream' and the like - or occasionally they offer bonus points.

Points were useful with reward partners when they were worth  x 3 in value- just devalued to x 2 value.
Even so might be worth looking to see if there is anything with partners that might be good for you (I used to save up for ferry crossings)

Sorry I don't know how the app works- I always have the paper vouchers or have used the website to order my clubcard 'spends'

There are no coupons showing on my account at the moment

With vouchers within the app you need to click on the particular voucher you want to spend, select voucher as payment type if using self scan and scan the barcode repeating for each voucher.  You may also need a piece of paper to wiggle in the voucher slot as the tills are too stupid to tell the difference between a digital and paper voucher.
With coupons you just load them to the card in the app and it automatically deducts them.

Thanks - and thanks for the tip about the voucher slot on the self scan. I only got the app last night, so I guess I will have to wait for a few more shops to see if any coupons show up. I will start to use the vouchers for money off.

I think they are experimenting with coupons to see the effect on overall takings.  They seem to come and go at the moment and currently none seem available.
If you spend the vouchers you don't get points for that amount - £20 shop and pay £10 voucher and £10 cash you will only get 10 points.

I tried to use one of my coupons at the self-service till this afternoon. It scanned but came up with a message saying it cannot be used yet. Anyone know why? I was using the app if that makes any difference.  I was in a rush so didn't bother to ask the assistant, but will try again another time - not at a self-service.
