Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Raining and damp underfoot, some laying water but cooler.
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, chips, beans and coleslaw - any thing else in fridge that needed using up.
Now finished work for some leave - pleased to have some time off.
Lots to do, food shopping, then visit to the beauty salon so I'm going to be holiday ready.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc, enjoy your leave.I was so pleased to get the grass cut yesterday evening. The top half, which had been scarified first, was in need of it whilst the second bit is still patchy (especially under the tree) with some parts looking good. It only took me ten minutes. As the forecast is rain for at least the next week I was desperate to get it done. 😀
This morning I have a trek to have my hair cut. Usually the drive is past fabulous views, today there's low cloud and mist along with rain so it won't be as lovely. Perhaps the drive home will be better. My last hair cut / colour was eight weeks ago, it hasn't been this long since first lockdown, it'll be good to get some weight off it as it's still very thick. The hairdresser's husband will give me a neck and shoulder massage whilst I cook.I hope that everyone is doing well. Lovely notes about your little one DP1. Happy Friday to all.11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It's a grey start here, going to rain I think.
Hope you soon get an appointment Ruby, keep putting the sunscreen on.
Camelot, sounds like a big job, but it'll be worthwhile. Have a day off as well though.
I didn't go out at all yesterday, just did house stuff. I'm not really bored Nanny and Taff, it's just that when I re read my posts before sending they can sound so dull! But we can't always be jollifying. ( is that a word? If it's not it should be!)
DP1 your dgd is a delight, she's at a lovely age.
Coxy, Dh and me would be the same as your Ddad, it would take a battering ram to wake us once the hearing aids are out.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of those who are poorly.
Take care folks.

Morning everyone and thanks for the start @nmlc - hope you have a good break x
After yesterday's rude awakening, the day ended with a visit to the cinema to see Indiana Jones. We had to walk the long way around as police had cordoned off the pedestrianised part of the town due to a stabbing. Honestly don't know what the world is coming to - two 17 yo girls who attacked two men. Just awful.
Today I'm WFH. Boss is off to Bristol this morning so a quiet start hopefully. I need to get some IT admin bits done and will welcome not being interrupted.
Happy hairdresser day @Gers - I'm seriously tempted to stop dying mine and let it go to grey but it's way past my shoulders and I wouldn't want half and half as that would look awful (or trendy depending on your viewpoint). Dinner is fish and SW chips tonight so nice and easy.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A dull but dry start here, with mizzle forecast on and off all day. Yesterday would have been lovely if it hadn't been for the wind!
I've been a bit hit and miss posting this week. A mixture of feeling jaded and having done nothing worth mentioning. SCARLET I think I need a bit of jollyfying!
I finally finished my tour of the windows yesterday morning and just in time as the window cleaner appeared after lunch, so both the inside and outside are now sparkling!
Friday Tidy today but the eldest DGD is descending at some point to sort out the 3 car loads of stuff dumped in my garage. Their new (to them) student house is now available so the ordeal of taking it all back again can begin. DD is adamant it's not going to happen in a day this time so DGD is going to sort out what she wants to go back first trip. DD is not happy as their dad has a big van and could transport it all in one trip but he says he's not free to do it. Grr is it any wonder he's the ex hubby. Always an excuse where work is involved.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, getting better or MIA. Dp1 I do miss my DGDs being little ones age, even though looking after all 3 was hard work to say the least! RUBY I hope your appointment isn't too long coming. COXY that's frightening. I too wonder what sort of a world we are living in these days. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning all
It’s a bit dull and overcast here but the sun is due out later which will be nice. Day off for me today and I am going to see my electrolysis lady for her to remove some cherry angioma from my body I have had several come up recently and she can remove them relatively quickly and only a bit of pain 😬
Thanks for all the good wishes hopefully the appointment will come through quickly but they have said to expect a six week wait.
I need to walk the dogs this morning and have a quick tidy round then this afternoon I can have a nana nap on the sofa 😃
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, we're back to mizzling rain to be followed by heavy rain then drying up mid afternoon.
Yesterday Dad had his door fixed and his garage window can now be shut (he's opened it wide then couldn't shut it) there's always a list of jobs for Mr fix It to do when he gets to Dads. Meanwhile I helped Dad sort out his shed and I've taken ownership of his mower and strimmer ( he has all chippings) and then scrubbed his sink 🤢 I had to sort out my own gardening shed when I got home to accommodate the mower etc and a lot of things have hit the road.
Today I'm pottering till this afternoon when we'll go to meet DGD off the coach. I've been following her teachers tweets and everyone seems to have had a great time. Somehow DGD has been in almost every photo and even stood up on the bus to lead the singing before they set off ! We'll probably have sore ears too by the time DD collects her, she doesn't stop chatting 😂. She's so not like her brother, chalk and cheese comes to mind.
Have a good day all, take care and hugs to anyone in need.

Morning all. My CS bag pile is getting bigger. I'm up to two full to bursting and one on it's way after clearing one area in the lviing room yesterday, and a carrier bag equivalent in the rag bag and recycling in the pper box. I'm at that stage again where getting stuff out is more important than selling stuff. There wil be more to go when I get going upstairs again too. Non sequitur here but if you have houseplants or even outside plants, water them with rice water..Small tip from someone, if you rinse rice, use that water to water stuff. I extrapolated that to mean pasta water as well -well, it's starchy - so I've been watering one plant with it, looks really shiny and healthy. I'm going out to a pet place today to see if I can find something else for them to eat. They're getting fed up with the same old and rather than them never eating it again, I'll try and find something similar but different enough. I can get a new pillow for OH then too. He's death on pillows...Nanny, well, looks like your dad is on the decluttering bandwagon will he or nil he
Coxy, that's a bit shocking, but that's also prevalent here too and it's not even the big smoke. Scarlet, every day needs a bit of jollifying, you are allowed to find something fun and/or enjoyable to do each day if you fancy, no matter that others may roll eyes
I like garden pottering, other people might hate it, but it's fun for me. Izzy, have a restful weekend! Take care all, it's a changeable one today...

Morning All
Really miserable here, the rain is due to stay all day so the washing will have to stay inside.
I've been to have my eyebrows done this morning and have the dentist this afternoon, will do some painting in between. Everything is needing more coats of paint than I thought but it's slowly getting there. Hoping to get the kitchen finished by tomorrow then I can move on to the downstairs bathroom.
Have a good holiday nmlc, are you going away?
Enjoy a restful weekend Izzy.
Happy haircut Gers, good you got the grass cut, it seems to grow so quickly with the rain and occasional bursts of sunshine.
Hope you get an appointment soon Ruby, I have some of those wee things but I have cream to apply and they eventually go.
Never boring Scarlet!
Shocking news Coxy.
Have a happy Friday, take care. XX11 -
Evening
A bit late posting today. ds2 was allowed home from hospital today. Both journeys today took 90 mins each way due to traffic. Ds2 has to go back every 2 weeks and also for physio too. He’s glad to be home though. At least I don’t have to go everyday now.
Dinner was ds2 request of steak, I forgot to buy potatoes when shopping today so I had a pack of frozen veg which i roasted in the oven with peppers, garlic and olive oil along with mushrooms cooked in butter and garlic, curly fries & chips.Ruby hope your appointment soon comes through.
Nanny - can I borrow Mr Fix it.
dP1 - your dgd antics - makes me think I want to find the child in me again.
Taff can I borrow you to declutter my house.
Bella - hope dd move went well.
Snoozer - hope you had a nice break.
Gers - happy haircut
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.3
